If you would like to get an account on this website so that you can make your own posts to our blog, send an email to Bob Oberg. It is really quite easy when you get the hang on it — and fun to share!
While it is not necessary to be logged into a WordPress website to make comments to a post, in order to create a new post you must login. Use this URL:

Use your username or email address plus password to log in.

Dashboard
This will bring you to the WordPress dashboard of the website. Use the menu on the left hand side to do things such as add posts and pages and the like.

Add a New Post
In the side menu click on Posts and select New Post. This will bring up a simple editor for creating a post. First, assign a title. When you are nominating an artist, use the artist’s name as the title of your post.

Then simply type in your text, using the intuitive editor and the toolbars. You can show the second toolbar by the “Toolbar Toggle” button at the right of the top toolbar.

Note that if you would like to add an image to your post, that is easy to do using the Add Media button. (That is how I added the screen captures to this page.)
Read More Tag
Unless your post is only a few lines, please use the “Read More” tag at a logical break point in your post.

To see how this works out in practice, please visit the blog, which shows all posts. Notice how WordPress will arbitrarily truncate a longer post, not at a logical place you decide for yourself!
Assign a Category
Before you publish your post to the website, assign a category. If you don’t specify a category, General will be used as a default. The Songs category is the first new one I created, as the inspiration for this website came from listening to a song! I also added a category for videos to share that we now have our very own YouTube channel! We will add more categories from time to time.

Publish Your Post
When you are ready to publish your new post to the website, just click the blue Publish button. You are done! Before publishing you may save your draft or preview your new post. Once a post has been published it can be edited, and then there will be a blue Update button that you can use.
